Detailed description - Time relay ERV-08M (0.1 s - 100 h), Power supply: 12-230 V AC/DC

The ERV-08M time relay is a universal delay relay designed to switch on with a delay after the supply voltage is applied. It offers a wide time range of 0.1 seconds to 100 hours, universal 12-230 V AC/DC power supply, easy operation, and DIN rail mounting.

The relay is suitable for automation applications, controlling fans, motors, lighting, switches, and other devices that require delayed start-up.

Controls and functions

LED indication

• ON (red) - relay is powered

• OUT (green, steady on) - output relay is energized (contact 2-3 connected)

• OUT (green, blinking) - countdown to switching is in progress

Time setting

With the time relay, you can set an exact delay using two potentiometers:

1. Potentiometer "t" (0.1 to 10)
   - fine adjustment in % of the total range
   - 0.1 = 1%, 10 = 100%

2. Potentiometer "TS" - range selection:

   • A = 10 s

   • B = 100 s

   • C = 10 min

   • D = 100 min

   • E = 10 u

   • F = 100 u

The time change is activated the next time power is connected.

Switching function

1) ON Delay - delayed activation (terminals 2-3, NO)

• When power is connected , the countdown of the set time begins.

• After the time has elapsed, the Off relay (RLY) is activated - contact 2-3 (NO → COM) is switched on.

2) OFF delay via NC contact (terminals 2-1)

• Contact 2-1 (NC) is switched , even without power

• When power is connected, the countdown begins

• After the time expires, the contacts 1-2 open

Usage

The ERV-08M timer relay is used for applications where a delayed activation after an event is desired:

• The fan only turns on after the light is switched on (toilet, bathroom)

• Lighting in garage or hallway after door opens

• Gradual starting of motors

• Delayed switching of contactors

• Sequential switching of multiple circuits

• Delayed start of devices

The timing starts as soon as power is applied to the relay.
